In the Year 9 “Rock Band Project” students had the opportunity to set-up their first rock band from scratch. After learning the basic techniques and skills required to play a variety of rock instruments, students explored the key ingredients of an effective rehearsal session by forming their own bands of 4-6 players and learning a rock song of their choice. As the culmination of the unit, each of the bands created a final recording in the ISL studio, and performed live on stage in the auditorium. In this project, many students progressed from being complete beginners on their instruments to performing and recording in their first rock band.
