We chose ISL for its IB curriculum, believing that everything else would naturally fall into place—and it did. In an experienced IB school like ISL, students don’t just learn how to be good inquirers and thinkers; they also grow into knowledgeable, effective communicators, principled and reflective individuals. Our boys absorbed all these qualities and so much more. We could see it every time they stepped outside the classroom and faced the world with confidence and curiosity.
One day, their grandmother proudly remarked, “Kai and Viktor are such wonderful storytellers and attentive listeners,” and they were only 8 and 10 years old at the time. Hearing that from her made us realize how deeply these values had taken root, even at such a young age.
But it’s not just the academics that made ISL feel like home—it’s the incredible sense of community. The parents here are truly special. They, too, learn alongside their children how to stay open-minded and caring toward each other’s families. The Parents Team brings people together with events throughout the year, making it easy to build connections and find others who share similar interests, whether through the children’s classes, sports activities, or shared cultural backgrounds.
It might sound too perfect to be real, but that’s exactly how our experience was. We spent four wonderful years at ISL, where our boys started in Year 4 and continued through both primary and secondary. Through it all, the school supported not only their growth but also ours as a family.
And perhaps the most telling sign of ISL’s commitment was the way they handled the few times we raised concerns. The staff and team approached every issue with a genuine “win-win” mindset, showing us that they truly value open dialogue and partnership. That responsiveness and care are what make ISL more than just a school—it’s a community that holds a special place in our hearts.
