Early Years/ Kindergarten Teacher (for 3 to 6 years old)

The International School of Lausanne (ISL) is a leading not-for-profit, International Baccalaureate (IB) World School set in the French speaking part of Switzerland. The school employs approximately 250 members of staff on its campus where we welcome approximately 900 students from over 60 nationalities, from 3 to 18 years of age.

Early Years/ Kindergarten Teacher (for 3 to 6 years old)

Two-year contract from 1 August 2025

Qualifications and Qualities desired:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (graduate or postgraduate level)
  • Strong understanding of Early Years pedagogy with knowledge of philosophies such as Reggio Emilia
  • Proven experience of both collaborative planning and teaching
  • A minimum of three years’ proven teaching experience with three to six year old children
  • High proficiency in English (C1/C2 minimum); the ability to also teach in French is an strong advantage
  • Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) is a significant advantage
  • Knowledge or experience of forest school practice is an advantage
  • A proven ability to design lessons that motivate and inspire students to learn
  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity; experience in an international environment is highly valued
  • Adaptability, flexibility, dynamism and a sense of humour
  • The ability to meet high expectations of students, colleagues and a professional parent community
  • Excellent ICT skills with the ability to use technology to enhance learning
  • A commitment to self-reflection and professional development
