The world has changed dramatically with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The people of the Ukraine have shown incredible bravery in the face of adversity but they are suffering. More than a million people have fled Ukraine to neighbouring countries. As global citizens of ISL, we must help them.
The gender equality society is organising a collection to help women and children from Ukraine, with a push to mark International Women’s Day on Tuesday 8 March. The collection is for items identified as urgently needed by those helping at the border crossing. They will be transported by the Ukrainian consulate to the UN to those fleeing across the border (mainly) to Poland.
We hope that in the days before International Women’s Day, our community will show its support to these displaced women and children.
